Finding the right one

So once I decided I wanted a Caravan, I next had to find one set up right for me.  I wanted a decent bathroom where everyone didn’t get soaking we whenever I showered, a proper sized bed that didn’t require pulling out down or around every night.

I got abit lucky here and happened to find one set up exactly how I liked it just down the road.  Catch was it hasn’t exactly been loved and pampered so was tired and in need of a good clean up and of course redecoration to make it “mine.

The woman selling the caravan had lived in it for 4 years with her hubby.  He had sadly recently passed away from cancer so this was a hard move for her.  I knew her next home was a long way from ready so I offered her to keep the caravan for 6 more weeks so help her get her next home sorted.  She was so relieved of that offer and accepted it gratefully.  So wit h a deposit paid I left to find a tow vehicle and a place to park up and live firstly while I do the renovations I was already planning, but also a home for when I am not travelling

I hit facebook marketplace looking for the tow vehicle.  After a life of being a “holden” girl, I had come to the conclusion that the Ford Ranger was going to be the best option for towing 7 meters of caravan.  I found the one I wanted in Auckland and being very spoilt, my dear friend Greg went up and drove it home to me.

An advertisement in marketplace gave me options for a place to park up and after investigating these I chose a cool spot, not far from Richmond, on a wee farm with cows, sheep and chickens as my neighbours and where Archie can run for hours on the grass chasing balls

Now I just had to wait till it was time to pick up our caravan and start making it home 🏡
